Her name evokes a halo of light, a vital force, and positive energies… This new Fountaine Pajot sailing catamaran has become the symbol of the shipyard’s commitment to its environmental transition. Aura” also means “the wind” in ancient Greek; Nereid, Aura was the personification of the morning breeze…
A promise kept for this new 51-foot sailboat that is elegant, agile and high performing. The Aura 51 marks a new stage in the evolution of the Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans range and the desire of the shipyard in La Rochelle to go further in its environmental approach.
Embark with Amy, Nathalie and Nick for a cruise that respects the sea grass beds, the fauna and the marine flora, in the Glénan Archipelago, renowned for its magnificent preserved islets and its regular breeze. What better place to discover this new sustainable catamaran, and to enjoy her sleek line and her many comfortable spaces, both while sailing and at anchor.
Putting the environmental transition at the center of the deployment of this boat and those that will follow in our shipyard is a major challenge. Thus, we have multiplied by 5 the integrated surface of the deck to install solar panels, which means that the boat is able to accommodate 2000 watts of solar panels.
By adding other features in favor of sustainable development, such as batteries that can be recharged thanks to the sun, we have a vision of a boat in the near future, with an electrical impulse and negative consumption, i.e. capable of producing more energy than she consumes without having to resort to fossil fuels in a normal use. In the same way, the electricity generated by renewable energy will allows to produce drinking water, cold, or air conditioning necessary on board.
“In order to demonstrate this change of generation and ambition, the Fountaine Pajot Shipyard has focused on three principles to optimize this Aura 51 model: first of all, we wanted to maximize the number of cabins in a vessel of this size. First, we wanted to maximize the number of cabins in a boat of this size. We are the only ones today to offer 6 cabin/bathroom spaces for a 50-foot catamaran. We have also worked on the versatility of the model and have even gone as far as three Owner versions (Maestro-Double Maestro-Full Maestro) in addition to the 6-cabin version, which has never been offered by Fountaine Pajot until now.” Romain Motteau, Managing Director
The Aura 51 benefits from a fine work of our designers for many innovations inside and outside the boat. The new deck design marks the arrival of a new generation of Fountaine Pajot boats, while the new cockpit design offers maximum transversal openness and an almost unique volume between the saloon, the galley and the exterior cockpit. The large convivial spaces are beautifully designed both inside and outside, making the Aura 51 a yacht that is both extremely pleasant to live in and in harmony with nature.
