The Aura 51 has established itself as a benchmark on the 50-foot catamaran market ever since it was launched in 2022. Its success bears witness to the interest in a model capable of adapting to a variety of sailing projects.

In line with this, Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans is evolving this model to integrate it into its new generation of catamarans as the FP51. It retains all the key elements that have made the Aura 51 so successful, while incorporating design and equipment upgrades to match with current modern cruising practices.

A renowned model, suited to all sailing programmes

The FP51 retains all the fundamentals that made the Aura 51 so successful:

  • A catamaran designed for owners,
  • A family-oriented approach,
  • A wide variety of layouts to respond to a wide range of uses.

Depending on the configuration, the FP51 is suitable for both private cruising and charter work. The 6-cabin version, widely adopted by charter companies, confirms this model’s versatility and ability to meet the demands of intensive use with no compromise on functionality.

With the FP51, Fountaine Pajot is evolving an iconic model to fully integrate it into the new generation of Sailing Catamarans. This translates into measured developments in aesthetics, certain equipment and the organisation of spaces, consistent with the current standards of the range.

Full integration into the new Fountaine Pajot range

Hull decoration in line with the new generation of catamarans

The FP51 features a decorative design consistent with the visual identity of the new Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans range, while retaining the lines and proportions that have contributed to its success.

An optimised helm console

The helm station aboard the FP51 has been completely redesigned. It now features a new helm console as standard, designed to house new chart plotters. The larger screens offer improved readability and enhanced equipment levels.

The design of the console has also evolved, with integrated instrument support, providing clearer reading of navigational information and creating a more modern look to the entire helm station.

The FP51 now features a hard top at the helm station. This development significantly improves protection from the elements and allows the space to be enclosed off for greater comfort for the helmsman, and whether under way or at anchor.

Technical evolutions focused on ease of use and durability

The FP51 benefits from numerous technical developments derived from the latest advances in the Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans range. These improvements are designed to facilitate sailing manoeuvres, enhance the reliability of equipment and support regular, long-term use.

New generation deck hardware

The FP51’s deck hardware has been upgraded with the integration of new generation Lewmar components, notably tracks and ball-bearing blocks. This configuration improves the fluidity of sailing manoeuvres and the durability of the equipment, meeting the requirements expected of a 51-foot cruising catamaran.

The FP51 also features a new lashing system by Incidence Sails, allowing the mainsail to be hoisted effortlessly. This solution, already tested and proven aboard both the FP41 and FP44, is now available on this model, providing a real gain in comfort and ease of use.

Rigging and equipment suited to intensive use

The running rigging of the FP51 has been reinforced to offer greater resistance over time. This development meets the expectations of owners.

The aft platform has also evolved, with the integration of a new ladder for easier access to the water and manoeuvres in the anchorage.

Simplified electrical management

The FP51 is now equipped with a remote circuit breaker, integrated into the interior switch panel. This development improves ease of use and safety on board by simplifying the day-to-day management of the boat’s electrical systems.

Upgraded interior finishes and perceived quality

The FP51 also benefits from significant improvements in the level of interior finish, contributing to a noticeable advance in quality the moment you step aboard.

The FP51 catamaran features the new upholstery introduced on the FP41 and FP44. The success of these models confirms the relevance of this choice, both in terms of comfort and quality.

More sophisticated cabins

The change in the headboards in the cabins provides a more sophisticated finish and a warmer atmosphere. Attention to details such as this enhances comfort on board and the feeling of cosiness, which is particularly appreciated when blue water cruising.
