Before commercializing the high performance sails on their catamarnas, Fountaine Pajot chose to test them in the Atlantic. The main sail (CST : Cruising Square Top) ,developed by Incidences, was put on a Salina 48 to navigate from La Rochelle to Québec for the North Atlantic Crossing – La Grande Traversée de l’Atlantique Nord. The test was a frank success, with the sails in perfect condition on the arrival and with no sign of wear and tear! Less than a week away from La Rochelle to the Azores then 2 weeks from the Azores to Quebec, is a 3300 mile crossing fast over, in 3 weeks of navigation, with a cruising speed of 18,2 knots at the most. The Salina is a comfortable, fast cruiser!!! The main sails – CST, by Incidences, will be on option in the Fountaine Pajot range as from September for all private clients.
